In a groundbreaking cross-border project, Nordic public service journalists exposed the names and faces of over 20 Russian spies at embassies in Scandinavia. By combining intelligence sources and leaked Russian databases, the project exposed the shadow war by Putin's agents, ranging from industrial espionage to dark vessel-surveillance of critical infrastructure at sea.

This hunt for a potential spy ship is part of a yearlong investigation. Following Russia's full scale invasion of Ukraine, a group of Nordic journalists have been digging ever deeper into a murky world of Russian espionage, seabed warfare and disinformation.
This podcast series will end up revealing evidence of what experts call a complex hybrid war, which is already playing out in the Nordic countries and in the waters surrounding them.
